Do you read it? Why?
I really enjoy reading non-fiction, but I think that at times it can be a little much to take. That may be envy speaking, however, as my favorite non-fiction authors generally inpsire a sort of despair in me, as I doubt I'll ever have such a grasp on the written word. Generally speaking, I have a non-fiction book going on the side of my regular reading, and I pick it up, read a couple chapters and then move on to something else for a while. Right now I'm reading "Under the Tuscan Sun" which is very well-written.
I also enjoy non-fiction essays, and in some ways prefer them to the full length books. E.B. White was a prolific essayist. Alice Walker, who is best known for her novel "The Color Purple" also produced non-fiction essays, which I actually prefer to her novels.
So what about you all - who do you read and how did you find them?
