I'm not a major mystery fan in general. There are very few mysteries I like. One series I love though is The Cat Who books by Lilian Jackson Braun. I think it's partly because the plot is not too intense, and partly because the concept is so hilariously brilliant. I can't remember which of the books I first read, but I must have made it through several before I found out she had actually lived nearby once, and that Pick Ax was (loosely) based on my real life hometown!
So who else is a fan of these books? Which one is your favorite, if you can pick just one?
And for the sake of further discussion I'll ask the eternal question. Which were better, Moose County or Down Below?

The Moose County books are much better. Anytime he goes out of moose county, Qwilleran loses points and the books lose my interest. The characters just seem so much more comfortable and at home there. It's like Qwill was always waiting for Moose County to make him who he realy is and when he got there, he became a different person. Plus, the bad guys are more interesting and less one-dimensional.
