My absolute favorite book is Pride and Prejudice. I think. Most of the time. I think it reflects a lot ofwhat I feel a classic should be. It's interesting, well-written, and fun. It definitely has the ability to stand the test of time. Even though Austen was writing about/during a specific moment in time, the characters and plot still connect to readers today.
Would you use those same criteria to assess a classic? What are your criteria? And applying them...what modern literature do you think will become classics?
